Students may receive grades and credit (not to exceed 2 credits) for internship experience. They may or may not receive pay while working on internship programs.
Students wishing to participate in internships must have parental consent in the form of signed approval of class schedules involving internship release.
Deviation from this policy will necessitate Board sanction and approval and will only be considered in cases of need and emergency.
As appropriate, internships will take the form of career-exploratory activities, work done in shops and laboratories of the various technical/vocational schools and departments, or cooperative programs provided through local businesses and industries. The school system itself may provide students job experience in certain departments.
