It is the policy of the Board of Education of the Emery County School District to provide a free appropriate education to each handicapped student within its jurisdiction, regardless of the nature or of the handicap.
is the intent of the District ensure that students who are handicapped within the definition of Section of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 are identified, evaluated, and provided with necessary accommodations for appropriate services. Students may be handicapped under this policy though they do not require pursuant to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Due process rights of handicapped students their parents under Section are in the Emery County School District.
The Supervisor of Elementary Education is the compliance officer of Section in the Emery County District.
